Calling all Instagrammers…
Alchemy Initiative launches the first of their First Fridays Artswalk pop-up exhibits at Mad Macs on July 6th, titled “#Independence.” Mobile photographers are invited to explore the theme independence, using the photography application Instagram.
Instagram is a free photo-sharing program that allows users to take a photo, apply a digital filter, and then share it through various social networking services. Launched in 2010, Instagram was initially supported on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. In 2012, the program became available for Android phones as well.
Jess Conzo, Executive Director of Alchemy Initiative says
“The theme was chosen as an ode to Independence Day, which will be celebrated the weekend of the show’s opening. While we are honoring the history and sentiment of this holiday, we are very interested to see the many visual interpretations of the word independence.”
